En 2006, un ensemble de cartes postales est retrouvé dans une ancienne maison de Qatamon, quartier de Jérusalem qui était avant 1948 un quartier palestinien prospère. Ces cartes portent le tampon de leur éditrice : « Karimeh Abbud - Lady Photographer ».

Voilà retrouvée la trace de la première femme photographe de Palestine et du Moyen-Orient.

Son travail est un précieux témoignage de la vie sociale, culturelle et humaine en Palestine au début du XXe siècle.

In 2006, a set of postcards was found in an old house in Qatamon, once a prosperous Palestinian neighbourhood in Jerusalem until the Nakba in 1948. These postcards bear the stamp of their printer, « Karimeh Abbud - Lady Photographer. »'

That is how the vestiges of the first female photographer in Palestine and the Middle East were discovered.

Her work is a valuable account of social, cultural and human life in Palestine at the beginning of the 20th century.
