The musée de l'Homme

Inaugurated in June 1938, the Musée de l'Homme invites visitors to follow the long history of humanity and societies through a combination of biological, social and cultural approaches and a resolutely humanist perspective. Completely revamped in 2015 and constantly evolving ever since, this 'laboratory museum' brings together exceptional collections of prehistory and biological and cultural anthropology, as well as a centre for research, education, training and dissemination, all under one roof.
A true forum for debate, this unique destination challenges us to ask : Who are we ? Where do we come from ? Where are we going ? These three main questions inform the visitor experience, which is about understanding humanity and our place in the natural world, learning about our origins, and exploring how we might adapt to the world of tomorrow.
